Theressa B. Strong, M.D. Dr. Strong is a Board Certified ophthalmologist with more than twenty years of experience in advanced small incision cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery. She utilizes traditional as well as premium astigmatism and multifocal correcting implants.

In addition to treatment of cataracts, she provides comprehensive ophthalmic care to patients of all ages, with special emphasis on glaucoma treatment and lasers, diabetic eye care, and problems of the aging eye.

She believes in the importance of educating her patients about their ocular conditions.

A native of Pittsburgh, she is repeatedly cited by her patients as a caring and compassionate physician who "talks to her patients".

Dr. Strong has served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Clair Hospital and the Chairman of Education for the Allied Health Personnel of the Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society. She previously has been active in the clinical instruction of ophthalmology residents.

Dr. Strong has also consistently been awarded the Physician Recognition Award by the Pennsylvania Medical Society for excellence in continued medical education.

Humanitarian Endeavors

Dr. Strong  is an active volunteer member of Eye Care America, the public service program of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, providing eye care at no out-of-pocket cost to those who qualify.


Dr. Strong enjoys gardening, travel, reading, various church group activities and playing in her church’s  Hand Bell Choir. She is a busy wife and mother of three children.
